A promising H.S. athlete, I had little enthusiasm for the track & field team I was apart of. I never would have guessed that a decade later, I would revisit the sport with such a competitive vigor.
Year 2000 was the year of the Marathon. My dedication to training paid off with a 3:54:11 time. In just 2 years, I finished my first ever marathon and placed in the top 17% in my age group. By now I was hooked on the sport of running. It became my obsession.
Having conquered the distance of a marathon, I set my goals on the speed of 5K, 8K, 10K, and 10 Milers. I tailored my training and diet to sculpture my body to perform at a higher level. Gym time and running hills repeatedly became the order of the day.
